The Northwestern Medieval Colloquium brings distinguished speakers to campus each year for a series of dynamic conversations in settings ranging from informal lunches with graduate students to traditional evening lectures. In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of medieval studies, the Colloquium allows scholars using multiple intellectual approaches to exchange ideas about a shared set of cultural artifacts and contexts.

The Poetry & Poetics Colloquium (PPC) is the central venue for cross-disciplinary, transhistorical scholarship on poetics at Northwestern, as well as a collection of arts initiatives that support the practice of poetry on campus and beyond. Founded in 2009, the colloquium regularly convenes a group of core faculty and graduate students who share an interest in the long and varied traditions of poetry and poetics across languages and historical eras.
