Department Colloquia

The American Cultures Colloquium at Northwestern University brings Americanists from different academic specialties and institutions into dialogue with the Northwestern community.

The Early Modern Colloquium at Northwestern University hosts a series of interdisciplinary conversations on scholarly work in progress by faculty and doctoral students working on early modern/Renaissance cultures from a variety of academic disciplines and departments.

The Long Nineteenth Century Colloquium at Northwestern seeks to foster interdisciplinary approaches to the study of 19th and 20th century British culture, society, and history by encouraging conversation, collaboration, and comparativism across departmental and institutional lines.

The Northwestern Medieval Colloquium brings distinguished speakers to campus each year for a series of dynamic conversations in settings ranging from informal lunches with graduate students to traditional evening lectures. In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of medieval studies, the Colloquium allows scholars using multiple intellectual approaches to exchange ideas about a shared set of cultural artifacts and contexts.
