A symposium on Hester Pulter's poems and The Pulter Project.

Summer 2013

The Sixth Annual International Whitman Week Seminar and Symposium - a week-long event, including a Seminar for advanced students interested in Whitman and Whitman’s poetry, and a Symposium bringing together international scholars and graduate students.

Summer 2011

The Mellon Symposium on Medieval Subjectivity - a week-long conference featuring academics from around the world speaking on topics broadly and specifically dealing with the ideas of "self" and "subjectivity."

Fall 2010

Fifth Annual Digital Humanities Colloquium - Northwestern again hosted the Digital Humanities & Computer Science Colloquium, having previously done so in the summer of 2007.

"The Poem's the Thing: Form, Matter, Affect" - a two-day conference at which twelve Renaissance scholars gathered to speak towards the possibilities and paradigms for reading poetry in a new generation of scholarship.

Spring 2010

"Culture, Politics, and the Dilemmas of African American Citizenship in the Antebellum U.S." - a two-day conference held in conjunction with the Department of History.

3rd Annual Spring Writers' Festival - A three-day festival of master classes, readings, and conversations with Writers in Residence Frank Bidart, Jo Ann Beard, and George Saunders. Portions of the festival were recorded by Chicago Public Radio for Chicago Amplified.

Fall 2009

"Five Muslim American Poets" - five poets read from their work and participated in a syposium entitled "The Muslim American Poet as Self and Other."

"Lorraine Hansberry: A Raisin in the Sun and Beyond" - a two-day conference on the life and career of Liorraine Hansberry 40 years after A Raisin in the Sun debuted.

Summer 2007

Second Annual Digital Humanities Colloquium - a two-day event with the goal of exploring the potential of text and image archiving in an academic setting.

Spring 2007

"Critical Moves" - a symposium in honor of Larry Lipking on the occasion of his retirement.

Fall 2006

The Othello Project - a quarter-long series of lectures and other events, inaugurating the annual One Book, One Northwestern program
